The first trimester is when nausea is often at its worst, yet it is also when good nutrition matters most. A few simple habits help:
- Folic acid every day through the first twelve weeks.
- Small, frequent meals to keep nausea down.
- Protein at breakfast – eggs, milk, dal or paneer.
- Iron and calcium rich foods, with vitamin C to help iron absorb.
- Plenty of water, and rest whenever your body asks for it.
Your antenatal plan is set to your own risk profile at the first visit.
